The journey of the ore

Follow a piece of ore from the pit. The line moves as you scroll, and at every station the ore gets a little whiter.

  1. Excavator loading magnesite onto a truck in the open pit

    1. Open pit

Magnesite ore is extracted run-of-mine from the benched open pit on our licensed site.

  2. Crushing and screening plant

    2. Crushing

Run-of-mine ore is reduced to workable sizes in the crushers.

  3. Aerial view of the screening line

    3. Screening

Screens split the material into two lines by grain size: 2–10 cm and 0.5–2 cm.

  4. Washing drum and conveyor

    4. Washing

The washing drum removes clay and dust from the ore surface.

  5. Hand sorting magnesite on the picking belt

    5. Hand sorting

Our teams sort the magnesite by hand using colour: the white stays, the gangue goes.

  6. Covered processing building

    6. Magnetic separation

On the fine fraction, a magnetic separator captures impurities such as serpentine.

  7. Product and shipping

Shipped to customers in Türkiye and abroad according to demand.

Where does magnesite go?

The raw material for the refractories every high-temperature industry needs, and for many other industrial products.

About magnesite
  • Steel and metals

Basic refractory brick made from sintered magnesia protects furnaces and ladles in steel, iron and metal refining.

    Sintered
  • Cement and lime

High-temperature lining for cement rotary kilns and lime kilns.

    Sintered
  • Glass and ceramics

In the refractory linings of glass melting furnaces and ceramic kilns.

    Refractory
  • Agriculture and livestock

As caustic calcined magnesia in animal feed and fertilisers.

    Caustic
  • Chemicals and pharma

Starting material for magnesium compounds; pharmaceutical industry.
